Pre-stamped envelopes issued by the Post Office. Printed by McCorquodale & Co Ltd.

Envelope sizes - (price was the same for either size):

Imperial Size 'A' = 4¾ inches x 3 11/16 inches (120mm x 95mm) [called Size H by Huggins, 1970]

Imperial Size 'N', 'Commercial' Size listed as 6 inches x 3½ inches (152mm x 89mm) in 1937 Post Office Guide [called size G by Huggins]; then as 5 inches x 3 inches (135mm x 80mm) when the 2½d envelope is issued from 1942 [size E by Huggins].

In 1951 the colours of imprinted stamps were changed to meet Universal Colour Scheme regulations set by the UPU.
